Dr. Jinxuan Ma is a distinguished researcher in Media Studies and Education, honored with the prestigious Best Researcher Award. With an impressive academic journey, Dr. Ma completed a Ph.D. in Information Studies with a minor in Health Sciences and Clinical Practice at Florida State University in 2014. Following this accomplishment, in 2015, Dr. Ma embarked on a postdoctoral journey at the Information Use Management and Policy Institute within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine at the College of Medicine, Florida State University.
Under the guidance of Dr. Don Latham and supported by esteemed committee members, including Drs. Melissa Gross, Mia Lustria, and Robert Glueckauf, Dr. Ma delved into the exploration of health information literacy among undergraduate students. This research culminated in the dissertation titled “Interacting with health information for self-care: An exploratory study of undergraduate students’ health information literacy.”
Dr. Ma’s educational background is diverse and extensive, encompassing an M.L.S. from the University at Buffalo in 2007, with a major in Library Science. Prior to that, academic achievements include an M.A. in International Information Management from Tianjin Foreign Studies University in 2001 and a B.S. in Archives Management from Tianjin Normal University in 1990. This varied educational foundation has uniquely shaped Dr. Ma’s expertise at the intersection of information studies, health sciences, and clinical practice, contributing significantly to the field.
