My journey commenced as a Junior Scientist at the Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in Moscow, USSR, from 1971 to 1978, where I laid the foundational groundwork for my passion in molecular science. Advancing through the ranks, I held roles as a Scientist (1978-1982) and Senior Scientist (1982-1990) at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow, USSR, delving deeper into molecular complexities. As a Lead Scientist at the Institute of Molecular Genetics under the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1990 to 1996, I honed my leadership skills in molecular research. Venturing into international collaborations, I served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Nevada Reno from 1990 to 1991 and later as a Visiting Scientist at Arizona State University’s Department of Physics in 1991-1992. Subsequently, I assumed the role of Research Professor at Arizona State University’s Department of Microbiology from 1992 to 2004, before joining the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
